Data Architect (Remote / Villanova, PA / Berkeley, CA / New York, NY)

What We Need:

The Data Architect will work closely with project managers and client representatives to develop and speak to data migration strategy that will enable the migration of data from legacy databases into the Salesforce database architecture with roundCorner packages installed. The data mappings will include transformation logic that will accommodate operational differences between the legacy data architecture and the data architecture required to support the Salesforce and roundCorner data architecture. The Data Architect will oversee the execution of the tools that carry out the l data migration. The Data Architect will also assist the project manager and client in understanding functional differences between the legacy application and the new Salesforce based solution and its effect on the data model and business processes.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform analysis of legacy data records, data models, and advice project manager on the best way to migrate and manipulate client data to roundCause/SalesForces environments or data warehouse repositories.
  • Assist the project manager in assessing the quality and quantity of the client’s data to provide realistic time and recourse projects for data migration.
  • Create and document data mappings and transformations to facilitate the extraction, transformation and loading of legacy data.
  • Oversee the data extracts, data translation, and data cleanup as part of larger projects to implement a new CRM/fund raising system or data warehouse repository.
  • Provide guidance with respect to application configuration and settings to facilitate the data migration process.
  • Provide technical support to roundCorner partners engaged in data migration.

 

What You’ll Need:

  • 3-5+ years’ experience data extraction, transformation, and data loading
  • Expertise with database systems (Oracle, SQL, my SQL, etc.) including writing code and query tuning
  • Knowledge of CRM or ERP platforms (Banner, Raisers Edge ,Team Approach, eTapestry, etc.)
  • Experience with ETL and data synchronization/integration tools (MuleSoft, Boomi, SnapLogic, Informatica, Relational Junction, etc.)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, ability to collaborate with a team and detail oriented
  • Exposure to Salesforce; data model (ERD and DFD diagrams) preferred
  • Nonprofit industry experience a plus

Lead Support Engineer (Remote / Villanova, PA / Berkeley, CA / NYC)

What We Need:

roundCorner has a customer-base of 100+ organizations across the nonprofit and higher education sectors. These customers are users of the NGO Connect and Advancement Connect managed package Salesforce.com applications, and are entitled to high-quality support as part of their product subscription.

 

The lead support engineer will be part of the customer success and support team at roundCorner. The support team is responsible for delivering a high-quality experience for our customers when they need assistance with our product. The engineer will be the key technical resource for the support team when working on tough Force.com application issues. When issues arise, the engineer will take responsibility for complex technical aspects and work in close collaboration with an assigned support analyst.

 

The engineer will rely on his or her analytical skill to ensure that the customer has been asked the right questions, that the right resources have been gathered, and lead the problem-solving process. The engineer will then manage the diagnostic engineering team to analyze the problem, isolate the root cause and recommend a workaround. The engineer will then assist the analyst in providing a response to the customer. The engineer will also be personally involved in diagnostic and solutioning tasks in addition to ensuring the quality of work performed by diagnostic engineers. As required and particularly when urgent situations develop, the engineer will be required to perform development and development operations tasks personally to resolve problems.

 

The engineer will become very familiar with the code and architecture of our Force.com application and discover how that is extended and modified in each customer’s individual instance of salesforce. The engineer will participate in customer case resolution, devising workarounds, and collaborating with the product engineering team on fixes. The engineer may also engage with our services team to advise in extending application functionality.

 

This role requires a background in software development and the ability to read Apex code in order to understand the deep functionality of the roundCorner applications. The NGO Connect and Advancement Connect products are very sophisticated and use a wide range of platform capabilities, including batch jobs, custom settings, triggers, classes, Visualforce pages, Heroku, and multiple managed packages. A candidate will be expected to know or learn how to work with all of these technologies in both small environments and enterprise-scale large data volume environments.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the diagnostic and solutioning process for customer issues
  • Work with diagnostic engineers to identify the root cause of application and platform error messages
  • Develop custom code to implement workarounds
  • Interact with support analysts and customer contacts directly on cases
  • Support and educate support analysts on application behavior
  • Work with product engineering and product management to report product enhancement requests
  • Improve/edit technical documentation to reflect application functionality
  • Interface with our technology and platform partners as required

 

What You’ll Need:

  • 2+ years of professional work experience in software development, or equivalent independent software development history is necessary
  • Basic Salesforce.com administration and implementation experience is necessary to have an adequate context for technical issues
  • Experience with Salesforce.com developer tools such as developer console, debug logs, data loader is desired
  • Experience in Force.com technical components such as SOQL/SOSL queries, asynchronous Apex, governor limits, outbound API calls, and development operations is desired
  • Experience working with common Force.com platform extension technologies such as Heroku, Angular.js, Bootstrap, Javascript, etc.
  • Formal computer science education desired, or equivalent work experience to develop strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals
  • Customer relationship skills built in work on internal or external customer-facing roles
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment requiring both quick insights and deep troubleshooting
  • Outstanding analytical and diagnostic skills based on natural talent, formal education, or experience in intense real-world problem-solving

As a Senior Salesforce Developer on the roundCorner development team, you will be involved in the technical design and development of all aspects of roundCorner products.  Your responsibilities will include designing, coding, debugging, and performance analysis as well as being involved with customer deployments, partner product integrations and competitive benchmarking.  You will work in a tight-knit team, share challenges with your colleagues, and develop high quality code that will be rolled out to thousands of customers.

roundCorner applications are built primarily using Apex on the Salesforce platform, as well as integrated technologies such as AngularJS, Oracle, Heroku, and AWS.  Knowledge of the Agile methodology would be an advantage, as well as having developed packaged solutions sold to external customers.

This is primarily a 100% telecommute position, with occasional travel to our office in Berkeley, CA, or other roundCorner locations.  This job will require some flexibility in working hours in order to liaise with other US-based team members and technology partners, as needed.

 

Desired Experience:

  • Salesforce Apex development and related technologies on the Salesforce.com platform, such as web service endpoints, triggers, scheduled jobs, deployment, and packaging (2+ years)
  • Additional development experience in any object-oriented language such as Java, C#, Python, or more Apex (5+ years)
  • Enterprise software architecture, object-oriented design and development
  • Agile methodology of daily standups, story pointing, and sprint planning
  • Working with product managers and business analysts to understand business needs and recommend technical approaches
