In the spirit of #GivingTuesday, roundCorner’s Philadelphia team volunteered at regional nonprofit Share!
What is Share?
The Share Food Program is a nonprofit organization serving a regional network of community organizations engaged in food distribution, education, and advocacy.
Each day, Share manages complex food distribution operations to bring a reliable stream of food relief to volunteer-led food cupboards. As a result, these cupboards serve Philadelphia’s most vulnerable citizens: 607,000 low-income individuals each month. Out of these individuals, 39% are children and 11% elderly.
Furthermore, Share has plenty of volunteer opportunities on any given day of the week. During our time at the Share Center Warehouse, the roundCorner team packed food boxes for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), which serves over 6,000 seniors monthly. By the end of the day, the team packed 1280 boxes!
